Take an optional morning coffee plantation tour. Fly to Tarangire and transfer to your stilted tree house accommodations. Set out on a game drive through Tarangire National Park, where open grasslands, acacia trees and the Tarangire River paint the wild landscape. Keep watch for eland, oryx, wildebeest, zebras and a large elephant population in addition to hartebeests, gazelles and exotic birds like the bateleur and martial eagle. Tonight, attend a traditional Maasai boma dinner. Tarangire Treetops | Meals: B L D

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater | Natural Amphitheater
After a morning game drive through Tarangire, fly to Manyara and transfer to your lodge at the amphitheater of Ngorongoro Crater, a 2,000-footdeep caldera. Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater | Animal-Filled Panorama

Day 6: Serengeti National Park | Tanzania’s Jewel
Pay an optional visit to Lake Manyara National Park on the high Rift Valley escarpment, its setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” Contrasting forests and grassy floodplains with expansive views across an alkaline lake, it also features jagged, blue volcanic peaks that rise from the Maasai Steppes. Large buffalo, wildebeest and zebra herds congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes. Meanwhile, a narrow swath of acacia woodlands is traversed by tree-climbing lions. Transfer to the airport and fly to Serengeti National Park, continuing to your tented home for the next two nights. Serengeti Migration Camp | Meals: B L D
Day 7: Serengeti National Park | Animal Migration
Set out on the boundless Serengeti, one of the oldest and least-changed ecosystems on earth. It is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of wildlife, with lions, hyenas and leopards all endemic. The region also hosts the spectacular Great Migration, when a flurry of wildebeest and zebras arrive in search of grass and water. Set out on a walking safari and full- or half-day game drives, mingling with animals of the Great Migration. As the equatorial sun hangs low over the plains, take a moment to reflect on the majesty of Africa. Then, sit down to dinner with fellow guests beneath the twinkling African skies. Day 8: Depart Arusha
This morning, embark on an optional walking safari. Leave the Serengeti and fly to Arusha, where a dayroom awaits until your international flight. Arusha Coffee Lodge (Dayroom) | Meals: B
